First-time event to bring communities together

The Brighton-Cramahe Chamber of Commerce will host the first Brighton-Cramahe Home & Garden Trade Show on April 22nd, 2018 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Keeler Centre in Colborne.

“The purpose of this Trade Show is to prompt growth for local businesses,” said Sherry Hamilton, Manager, Brighton-Cramahe Chamber of Commerce. As Brighton and Cramahe are quickly growing in size, we would like to see our local entrepreneurs and businesses connecting with newcomers to our community in a way that allows them to market their product and network with new audiences.”

This trade show is a free and family-friendly springtime event. The vendors consist of award-winning businesses such as Fidelity Engineering and Rocia Naturals along with many local artisans, landscapers, home renovators, design specialists, jewellers, furniture retailers, brokers, realtors and authors.

“This event is about bringing our two communities together,” shared Brighton Mayor Mark Walas. “It’s also an opportunity to showcase a number of business and services from our communities.” 

There are a ton of fun, family-friendly activities planned throughout the entire day. Ontario Agri-Food Venture Centre (OAFVC) will be participating in the Show, with their clients providing samples of their products. The Apple Country Garden Club will host a craft station for kids all day on the main stage. Activities will include gardening, potting plants, building bug hotels and more.

Guests can enjoy musical performances from local Brighton musician Scott Maybee. Local historian, Dan Buchanan will also be guest speaking at the Show, while showcasing his new book, “Race Against Time: Toronto to Montreal in 1840.”

The Show will also include a Tea Room hosted by Donna Rusaw of Black Apron and a Maker’s Market that will showcase local food vendors, jewellers, caterers, and more.

“This event shows the strength of the Brighton-Cramahe Chamber of Commerce,” Said Cramahe Mayor Marc Coombs. “I am a strong believer in supporting local businesses and this event is dedicated to doing just that.”

Many businesses will be giving away door prizes and holding Show specials for this event.
